Dear Members of the Hawai'i County Council;
I would like to ask you to please reconsider your proposal to cut the County Band of Hawaii. As a
music performer, 1 can't begin to tell you how important it is to have groups like this around -- the
experiences and growth that people in groups such as the Hawai'i County Band are invaluable. 1
recently graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, and I can't begin to tell you what an
important part music has played in my life. The music community is one that helps people grow, as
musicians and people, and should be one of the last things to be considered for budget cuts. Please
reconsider.
