Last night the Hawaii County Band was presented news that is to be no longer fund
with the coming budget. What a travesty to our community that this 127 year old,
Portuguese started tradition, who travels island wide and greeted with enthusiasm is to
be the only program in the county budget to be targeted as unfunded. The island of Oahu
already faced this problem when their 174 year old Royal Hawaiian band was targeted for
