•. •; of , <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> :,fire <br /> .1 OF NF <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 323 10 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF OCEAN SAFETY <br /> EQUIPMENT FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has donated ocean safety equipment, <br /> consisting of four (4) Zoll Automated External Defibrillators, six (6) Surftech rescue surfboards, nine (9) <br /> Recreonics megaphones, and six (6) Nikon binoculars to the Hawai'i Fire Department's Ocean Safety <br /> Division; and <br /> WHEREAS, these donated items, with a total value of $13,792.63, will facilitate the delivery of <br /> safety services, preventive actions, and basic emergency life support by the Hawai'i Fire Department's <br /> water safety officers; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides that the Council, on <br /> behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai'i Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, the Council of the County of <br /> Hawai'i accepts this donation. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to <br /> Ms. Laura Mallery- Sayre, Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O.
