Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 728, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 728, transmitted by Mayor Billy Kenoi, dated February 23, 2010, submits
for confirmation the appointment of Mr. Stephen Ono to the County of Hawai`i Windward
Planning Commission.
One member of the public commented that the Boards and Commissions need to be well -
rounded.
Mr. Ono appeared before your Committee. Upon questioning, Mr. Ono stated that his
background is in education. He further stated that although he was born on Oahu, he married a
"Hilo girl" and has lived in this county since they married, over 40 years ago.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with Mayor Kenoi's nomination and recommends
confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Stephen Ono to the County of Hawai`i Windward
Planning Commission. Mr. Ono's presence was waived from Council.
