Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 311 -10, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 311 -10, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication
No. 738, dated March 3, 2010, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more
than one fiscal year for multi -year leases for two (2) copy machines.
The Office of Housing and Community Development wishes to enter into two five -year lease
contracts for copy machines for two of their Hilo locations. The current leases will be expiring
soon, and both machines have exceeded their recommended usage and are constantly being
repaired. By leasing the two copiers, they anticipate an annual cost savings of $5,000.
Pursuant to Section 10 -11, Hawai`i County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 311 -10,
and recommends its adoption.
