DATE: March 16, 2010 <br />PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br />78 -128 `Ehukai Street <br />Kailua -Kona, Hawai` i <br />TIME: 1:30 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawai`i County Council <br />Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 313 -10, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 313 -10, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication <br />No. 742, dated March 3, 2010, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more <br />than one fiscal year for a multi -year lease agreement for three (3) 75 cubic yard refuse trailers for <br />the Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division. <br />These trailers are used daily, hauling refuse from the transfer stations to either the East or West <br />Hawai`i landfills, and have high mileage and are incurring costly mechanical and structural <br />repairs. The new trailers will be leased for a period of five (5) years with a purchase option. <br />Pursuant to Section 10 -11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation <br />requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by <br />resolution. <br />Department of Environmental Management Director Lono Tyson and Deputy Director of <br />Finance Deanna Sako were present to answer any Council Member questions. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 313 -10, <br />and recommends its adoption. <br />kk <br />REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />Re: Comm.
