Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 486, reports as follows:
Communication No. 486, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated October 8, 1999,
nominates Ms. Deborah Baker to serve on the Hawaii County Board of Ethics.
Ms. Deborah Baker of Kona has been employed as a public relations/advertising representative
with Current Events since 1990. She will replace Leonetta Mills of Kohala whose term will end
on December 31, 1999. A registered Democrat, Ms. Baker will serve a term to end
December 31, 2004.
Pursuant to Article XIV, Section 14-5, Hawaii County Charter, there shall be a board of ethics
appointed by the mayor with the approval of the council.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Ms. Deborah Baker to the Hawaii
County Board of Ethics.
