OPERATED BY THE COUNTY

resolution.
Recommends adoption of Res. 322-10.
Ayes: Committee Members Ford, Hoffmann, Naeole-Beason,
Yagong and Chair Greenwell.
Noes: None.
Absent: Committee Members Enriques, Ikeda, Onishi and Yoshimoto.
(Note: Mr. Hoffmann voted “kanalua” twice. Ms. Naeole-Beason voted
“kanalua” once, then “yes.”)

Comm 757: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE BY THE COUNTY OF
(Res. 318-10) HAWAI‘I OF THE INTEGRATED RESOURCES AND SOLID WASTE
MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I (includes
waste reduction practices and programs, opportunities for implementation of zero
waste policies and practices, the status of both active and closed landfills, and
potential options for expanding and extending the capacity of the South Hilo Sanitary
Landfill)
From Environmental Management Director Lono A. Tyson, received
March 22, 2010, transmitting the above resolution for the Council’s approval. The
2009 County of Hawai‘i Integrated Resources and Solid Waste Management Plan
Update has been prepared in compliance with Hawai‘i Revised Statutes (HRS)
Chapter 342G, which requires counties in Hawai‘i to update and revise their solid
waste management plans every five (5) years.
Postponed: April 6, 2010
(Note: There is a pending motion made by Mr. Hoffmann and duly seconded by
Ms. Naeole-Beason to close file on Comm. 757 and recommend adoption of
Res. 318-10.)
Forwards Res. 318-10 to Council with a negative recommendation.
Ayes: None.
Noes: Committee Members Ford, Hoffmann, Naeole-Beason,
Yagong and Chair Greenwell.

County Councilroom, Hawai‘i County Building, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo.
Public Attendance Via Videoconferencing is available at the locations above and at the Waimea Council
Office at the Holomua Center, 64-1067 Māmalahoa Highway, Suite 5 until 4:30 p.m., or later in the
event public witness testimony has not been completed. If audio stream between Kona and Hilo is lost
for more than a short period of time, the meeting will be terminated.
