FINANCE REPORT 146
(AMENDED)
By a motion duly made and seconded, the County Council amended Finance
Committee Report 146, by correcting the term of service for Mr. Morifuji, from
December 31, 2005 to December 31, 2004, to read as follows:
"A registered Democrat, Mc Morifuji will serve a term to end December 31,
2004."
as requested by Councilmember Aaron Chung. The motion was carried by the following
voice vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Chung, Elarionoff,
Jacobson, Leithead-Todd, Pisicchio,
Smith, Tyler, Yagong and Chairman
Arakaki - 9.
NOES: None.
ABSENT & EXCUSED:
None.
FC Report 146, as amended, was adopted.

Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 490, reports as follows:
Communication No. 490, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated October 13, 1999,
nominates Mr. Steve Morifuji to the Hawaii County Liquor Commission.
Mr. Steve Morifuji of Hamakua has been the manager of Mauna Lani Service, Inc. since 1994.
He will replace Earl Nakashima of Hamakua whose term will expire on December 31, 1999. A
registered Democrat, Mr. Morifuji will serve a term to end December 31, 2005.
Pursuant to Article VII, Chapter 3, Section 7-3.2, Hawaii County Charter, there shall be a liquor
commission consisting of seven members who shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by
the council.
With regard to the vote, Mrs. Jacobson voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Mr. Steve Morifuji to the Hawaii
County Liquor Commission.
