Subject: Support for Resolution Regarding Roads in Limbo
To the Committee On Public Works:
Re: Testimony in Support of proposed Resolution that the Department of Public Works provide road
maintenance materials at no cost from our publicly -owned quarries for the purpose of maintaining County roads
inventoried as "Roads in Limbo" to communities agreeable to spreading the materials on these County
roadways.
Date of Hearing: April 6, 2010
We are owners of a parcel of property in North Hilo which has no useable legal access to a public highway
because a makeshift bridge over which our legal easement passes has collapsed. Although there is legal access
over a road in limbo, parts of the road need road building materials to make it useable. We are organizing a
roadway association with some of our neighbors to try to make the road in limbo useable.
We strongly support the proposed Resolution described above.
