Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the County of Hawai'i Water Board.
Council District 5 — Delan Perry is a 62 -year resident of Hawai'i. Since 1991, he has been
employed by Volcano Isle Fruit Company, Inc. as a farm manager. Mr. Perry presently
serves as the President of the Big Island Farm Bureau and Vice - President of the Hawai'i
Papaya Industry Association. He states that he is a Democrat. If confirmed, he will serve a
term to expire on December 31, 2013, replacing Bernard Konanui whose term expired on
December 31, 2008.

Council District 9 — Mr. David Greenwell is a life -long resident of Hawaii. Since 1992, he
has been employed by Kawamata Farm, LLC. Mr. Greenwell's community service involves
the Boy Scouts of America. He states that he is a Republican. If confirmed, he will serve a
term to expire on December 31, 2014, replacing Riley Smith whose term expired on •
December3l, 2009.
