Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 144, reports as follows:
Bill No. 144, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 154-99 by Finance Director Harry
Takahashi, via Communication No. 481, dated October 7, 1999, amends Ordinance No. 99-70, as
amended, the Operating Budget ending June 30, 2000. The amendment is as follows:

3302.12 Federal Grant -COPS Ahead Program General $525,000
To:
010-20]-5219.53 COPS Ahead Program General $525,000
These funds will be used strictly for salaries and fringe benefits for seven (7) additional police
officers for community policing.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 144 and
recommends it pass first reading.
