YEAR 2010 -2011 APPROPRIATIONS FOR GRANTS TO NONPROFIT
ORGANIZATIONS
From Human Services and Economic Development Committee (HSEDC) Chair
Emily I. Naeole- Beason, dated April 7, 2010, transmitting recommendations for grant
funding to nonprofit organizations for inclusion in the County of Hawai`i's Operating
Budget for Fiscal Year 2010 -2011. States the recommendations have been developed
through an intense review of qualifying applications submitted to the Department of
Finance, interviews and /or site visits, and strong consideration of recommendations
submitted by the Ad Hoc committee members.
Postponed: April 19, 2010
(Note: There is a pending motion made by Ms. Ford and duly seconded by
Mr. Hoffmann to approve the recommendations set forth in Comm. 692.2 for
inclusion in Bill 211, the Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2010 - 2011.)
Recommends approval of the recommendations for inclusion in Bill 211, the
Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2010 -2011.
Ayes: Committee Members Enriques, Ford, Greenwell,
Hoffmann, Onishi, Yagong, and Chair Naeole- Beason.
Noes: None.
Absent: Committee Members Ikeda and Yoshimoto.

Hawai`i County Council will be conducting this Committee meeting via videoconference.
Councilmembers will be present at the following locations:
• Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa, 78 -128 Ehukai Street, Kona; and
• County Councilroom, Hawaii County Building, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo.
Public Attendance Via Videoconferencing is available at the locations above and at the Waimea Council
Office at the Holomua Center, 64 -1067 Mamalahoa Highway, Suite 5 until 4:30 p.m., or later in the event
public witness testimony has not been completed. If audio stream between Kona and Hilo is lost for more
than a short period of time, the meeting will be terminated.

copies for distribution. Public testimony may also be submitted before 12:00 noon on the business day
