Subject: Transmitting Bill 234, Draft 2
Please find attached Bill 234, Draft 2, as duly approved by the council during its meeting on May 5, 2010.
Bill 234 proposed to amend the effective date of Ordinance No. 09 -48 from May 11, 2010 to January 1,
2011. Ordinance No. 09 -48 relates to the adoption of the International Energy Conservation Code.
The proposed effective date was verbally amended by the council from January 1, 2011, to June 15, 2010.
Due to the time- sensitive nature of this bill, the council suspended its rules to adopt this amended bill on
second and final reading and also suspended its rule that requires final legislation to be held for six days for
potential reconsideration by the council.
Please transmit the attached to the Mayor for his consideration at the earliest possible opportunity.
