Aloha Council members,
I am writing in full support of resolution 305 -10 and on behalf of family farmers all around the
state urge you to pass this resolution. There is a tremendous opportunity to help diversify our
struggling economy by improving our local food production. I have been told that currently, the
state of Hawai'i imports over 2 billion dollars of food every year. There is a huge market waiting to
be tapped into, and programs like the farm to school program will open up markets for family
farmers. Please join those of us who are committed to increasing our local food production.
