Our roads are in desperate need of attention. We pay our fuel taxes every day as we drive but for decades have received no benefit on hundreds of miles of county sanctioned private road systems. As a 30 year resident of Orchidland Estates I have been up close and personal with these roads, and as President of our Community Association for the last 3 years I understand completely the reason for their condition. It is mainly due to the lack of foresight by the Territory of Hawaii in granting these developers' permits 50 years ago. There simply is not enough money in our meager budget to properly maintain 41 miles of roadway. This is an issue of equity and on behalf of our Community Association and its members I look to you to vote in favor of this Grant -in -Aid program. Comm. No. ( 3,8 Ref. To: ' FL Ref.
