Please vote to support resolution number 308 -10 and urge the DLNR to adopt the rules set forth by the Fisheries
Council for the sustainable management of our fishery.
It is imperative that collectors are limited, licensed and held responsible for the fish they take The hundreds of
thousands of fish being taken from our reefs every year cannot be sustained. This harvest supports a few
collectors but negatively affects the entire population of our island including snorkelers, divers, fishermen and the
tourists who visit.
When the reef fish population declines, the entire balance of the near -shore fisheries are impacted. Please control
the collectors to ensure a stable fish population for the future.
