Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 475, reports as follows:
Communication No. 475, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated October 4, 1999,
nominates Mr. Tracy Lauder to serve on the Hawaii County Salary Commission.
Mr. Tracy Lauder of Puna has been aself-employed farmer since 1970. He will fill a vacant seat
left by Roberta Cartwright. A registered Democrat, Mr. Lauder will serve a term to end
December 31, 2002.
Although numerous errors were found in Communication No 475, this report includes the correct
information.
Pursuant to Section 13-28, Hawaii County Charter, the salary commission shall consist of nine
members appointed by the mayor with the approval of the council.
Due to a lack of West Hawaii representation within the composition of the current Hawaii
County Salary Commission, Mr. Tyler voted Kanalua, then no.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Mr. Tracy Lauder to the Hawaii
County Salary Commission.
