Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 148, reports as follows:
Bill No. 148, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 496,
dated October 14, 1999, amends Ordinance No. 99-7Q as amended, the Operating Budget ending
June 30, 2000. The amendment is as follows:

The additional state funds, and the reallocation of funds from the previous year will be used to
fund 24 hour operations for the aeromedical helicopter; to purchase needed equipment for the
ambulance units and Dispatch Center; to partially fund three new dispatcher positions; and to
fund a new ambulance unit based at the Keauhou Fire Station.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No.148, and
recommends it pass first reading.
