No. 797Bi11 No. 241 PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa 78 -128 Ehukai Street Kailua -Kona, Hawaii TIME: 1:30 p.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 241, reports as follows: Bill No. 241, transmitted via Communication No. 797 from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated April 21, 2010, presents a Change of Zone Request by Don C. and Donna D. Watson, at Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2- 4- 021:031. Bill No. 241 seeks to amend Section 25 -8 -33 (City of Hilo Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), by changing the District Classification from Single - Family Residential — 15,000 Square Feet (RS -15) to Single- Family 10,000 Square Feet (RS -10). There was no public testimony. Applicants were represented at the meeting by Mr. Matt Iseger. Council Member Brenda Ford queried if the applicants were willing to abide by the conditions from the Department of Public Works regarding setbacks for road widening at an unspecified, if any, time in the future. Mr. Iseger indicated that they were aware of the conditions and were willing to abide by them, as there were no structures or other impediments in the setback area. Mr. Iseger further stated that the applicants were not planning any future improvements on the properties. There was no further discussion on the matter. Your Committee concurs with the Windward Planning Commission and the Planning Director's favorable recommendation for approval of the Change of Zone request.
