COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 342 10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF
$5,000 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, Ms. Rose Marie Lewent has to donated $5,000 to the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo &
Gardens; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used to support work at the zoo; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council,
on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts the $5,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent
to Ms. Rose Marie Lewent , 8 Peter Cooper Road, New York, NY 10010, acknowledging this generous
donation.
