Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $5,000 from Mrs. Rose -Marie
Lewent, 8 Peter Cooper Road, New York, NY 10010; to support the Pana'ewa
Rainforest Zoo & Garden. The monies will be used to support work at the zoo.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS
NEEDED):
The Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens has receive a $5,000 donation from Rose -
Marie Lewent to support work at the zoo. She and her husband are annual visitors to
the zoo when they vacation on the west side of our island.
This donation will help to fund unbudgeted improvements and programs at the zoo.

RE: Resolution No. 342 -10 : A Resolution Authorizing the Acceptance of a Monetary
Donation of $5,000 to the Department of Parks and Recreation
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In the event this
request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance
Committee for placement on its future agenda.
