Thank you for your efforts to stop construction of this station in this place. Our beautiful Church row is a unique part of what makes Waimea so special. We can go anywhere in the country and see a gas station/minimart. If we must have another one, lets put it in a less picturesque part of town where it wont impede the access to the Emergency Room ambulance roadway. This curve is already congested with restricted views when the ambulances are entering from the Hamakua direction. The traffic heading towards Hamakua is usually moving extra fast after racing to merge in front of the hospital. A gas station will inevitably add cars wanting to cross hwy 19 heading towards Hamakua. This additional traffic into and out of the station would only add to the problem of getting from the highway to the ER quickly. As you know, time is critical in emergency medicine .Driving an ambulance through the front entrance of the hospital and around to the back takes one to two minutes longer and can be uncomfortable for the patient because of all the curves and bends in the road.
