A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 3 -29
OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, RELATING TO SIGNS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to
enable the Hilo Main Street - Downtown Improvement Association to
sell advertising space on the parking meters located in the Downtown
Hilo area and use the funds collected to support their organization.
SECTION 2. Chapter 3, Article 1, Section 3 -29 of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 is hereby amended by adding a new subsection to
read as follows:
(6) Parkins Meter sign. One narking meter sign. per parkins
peter. unlighted. not exceeding one square foot in area.
relating to business conducted in the Downtown Hilo area.

SECTION 3. In the event that any portion of the ordinance is
declared invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other parts
of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
