Dear County Council: Council
Subject: Letter of Opposition to Said Proposal of Gas Station
In support of the community's effort, I submit this letter of opposition to the proposed
commercial usage of TMK: 6 -5- 004:57.
I am in agreement with the County Council, Local Residents, and "Church Row," churches to
— "request the Planning Director to deny the subject Plan Approval application upon
considering the proposed uses in relation to surrounding properties, improvements, streets,
traffic, and community characteristics, and further based upon any traffic impact analysis
report (TIAR), information on water consumption and wastewater disposal method(s), and
other reports, studies, or plans, and its nonconformance with the Waimea Design Plan." (Page
3;Paragraph 9; Resolution No. 345 00)
I am also in agreement with the Waimea Community Association, concerned community
members, directors and employees of the adjacent Keck Observatory building, pastors and
members of local parishes, and the landowner /developer to continue negotiations to secure a
win -win solution for alternative permitted use of the site.
Let it also be known that the Pastor, and members of New Hope Christian Fellowship, resolve
that the Planning Director immediately conduct a re- assessment of permitted uses of
commercially zoned properties adjacent to or potentially having a direct adverse impact uppn
the passive and serene character of "Church Row," and "Church Row Park." This re-
assessment shall include, but not be limited to, recommendations for compatible uses along
"Church Row." (Page 4; Paragraph 1; Resolution No. 345 00)
In addition. New Hope Christian Fellowship would like to thank the local churches, concerned
residents, businesses, and the County Council for Its support in allowing "Church Row," to
continue being a place of beauty, quietness, and having a restful atmosphere in a time of
fast - paced, technological advances.
Respectfully,
/A
