My name is Kenneth Block. I live in Puu Nani subdivision in Waimea. I am
opposed to a gas station at the church row location proposed by the
developer for •several reasons. •
Testimony in favor of draft resolution 00 -345

First, the use conflicts with the land use concept map in the Waimea design
plan.
Second, the traffic on church row will be adversely affected. Church Row is
a country lane. It was not designed to handle 24 hour a day gas
station/convenience store /car wash traffic.
Third, a gas station is inappropriate in the midst of churches, a passive park,
and the Keck telescope headquarters. Church row is a peaceful place. It
won't be peaceful if the Planning Director approves the proposed use.
Fourth, Where will the water for a car wash come from? Where wilt the
waste water go? Will it wind up in Waikaloa stream?
For the above reasons 1 propose that draft resolution 00 -345 be adopted.
