Bill 333, Draft 4
This is to transmit Bill No. 333, Draft 4, which amends the Operating Budget for Fiscal
Year Ending June 30, 2001.
Specifically, Bill No. 333, Draft 4 proposes to shift the funds ($1,184,904) originally
proposed by administration in the Provision for Future Budget Shortfall account to a new
account called Provision for Flooding Disaster. Expenses incurred by the administration
for the recent November 2, 2000, flooding disaster would be drawn from this newly-
created account. This would mean that discretionary funds would not be available this
fiscal year. Expenses are still being incurred for this emergency and we do not know if
$1,184,904 will be sufficient. I would like the council to discuss this matter further to
determine if other projects should be shifted to accommodate the emergency funding.
