No. 661 /Bill No. 191 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 191, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 191, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 291 -09 by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, <br />via Communication No. 661, dated December 17, 2009, amends Ordinance No. 09 -64, as <br />amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2010. The amendment is as follows: <br />FROM: <br />3308.54 Federal Grants — <br />Section 5311 Non - Urbanized Formula Program General $ 25,154 <br />TOTAL $ 25,154 <br />TO: <br />010.311.5311.57 Section 5311 Non - Urbanized Formula Program General $ 25,154 <br />TOTAL $ 25,154 <br />The State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation has authorized a Section 5311 Non - Urbanized <br />Formula Program grant to the Hawai`i County Mass Transit Agency. The funds, derived from the <br />Federal Transit Administration, will be used to supplement the Job Access and Reverse Commute <br />(JARC) grant that was recently appropriated into the operating budget. The JARC grant is <br />intended to provide increased transportation services for working commuters and for those seeking <br />employment. <br />Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13- 13(b), Hawai`i County <br />Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the Section <br />5311 Non - Urbanized Formula Program. <br />Mass Transit Administrator Tom Brown was present to answer any questions and explained how <br />the funds will be used. <br />FC Rept.
