Goals: To continue the development of the Citizen Corps program, to provide Hawaii
County citizens an opportunity to participate in the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
volunteer program by preparing themselves for emergencies and to assist their communities in saving
lives and protecting property during natural or man -made disasters, under the direction of Hawaii
County Civil Defense.
Objectives: To prepare teams from communities, to use the teams as an emergency
management resource and as a volunteer pool to perform special projects that will improve preparedness
of 1- lwai'i County.
Outcomes or Results: At this time we have CERT teams trained in every district in the County
