We are Steve and Bonney Rankin, we live in Honomu. We have lived in this community for
four and a half years.
We support the budget that Mayor Billy Kenoi has submitted and feel that he has made some
very hard choices, but that he has made good choices for this community. We feel that our
Mayor has worked very hard to give us the best budget possible.
We are against last minute amendments being introduced, and the attempt to force them
through without time for community / public comment. We are against tampering with the
Police Department and Fire Department budgets, these people are on the front lines to
protect our community. There are hard choices that have to be made and we all know that
but these amendments and the way they are being handled are not in our best interest. It
is time for the county council to work with our Mayor for the best results for our
community.
