Your Committee on Finance, to which was refereed Bill No. 160, reporCs as follows:
Bill No. 160, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 163-99, by Finance Director Harry
Takahashi, via Communication No. 511, dated October 21, 1999, amends Ordinance No. 99-70,
as amended, the Operating Budget ending June 30, 2000. The amendment is as follows:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is providing funding to the State Civil
Defense to support Y2K preparedness and community awareness. State Civil Defense, in turn,
has made $10,000 available to the County of Hawaii to accomplish the same.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 160, and
recommends it pass first reading.
