Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 818, reports as follows:
Communication No. 818, transmitted by Mayor Billy Kenoi, dated May 5, 2010, requests confirmation of
the appointments of Dorothy Ku'ulei Badua, Glenn D. Carvalho, Scott Edward Enright, Richard Ha,
Farrah -Marie Kawailani Gomes, Brad R. Kurokawa, Matthias W. Kusch, Lorraine M. Mendoza,
Marc W. Miranda, Myles Y. Miyasato, Jason D. Moniz, Craig A. Neff, and Ka`iulani Pahio to the
Hamakua Community Development Plan Steering Committee.
There was no public testimony regarding the appointments. Nominees Badua, Carvalho, Enright, Gomes,
Ha, Mendoza, Miyasato and Moniz were present, in person and /or via video - conferencing.
Also present at the meeting was Christian Kay, from the Planning Department. Mr. Kay informed your
Committee that Matthias Kusch withdrew his name from consideration.
The nominees present were introduced. There were no questions for the nominees. Planning Committee
Chair Donald Ikeda waived future presence of the nominees who were present at today's meeting.
Nominees Kurokawa, Miranda, Neff and Pahio are requested to be present at the Council meeting to
allow Council Members the opportunity to meet them.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with Mayor Kenoi's nominations and recommends
confirmation of the appointment of Dorothy Ku`ulei Badua, Glenn D. Carvalho, Scott Edward Enright,
Richard Ha, Farrah -Marie Kawailani Gomes, Brad R. Kurokawa, Lorraine M. Mendoza,
Marc W. Miranda, Myles Y. Miyasato, Jason D. Moniz, Craig A. Neff, and Ka`iulani Pahio to the
Hamakua Community Development Plan Steering Committee.
