RESOLUTION NO. 358 10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF
$1,000 TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, State Farm Insurance is providing a $1,000 donation to the Hawaii Fire
Department, in appreciation and to support the Fire Prevention Division and its arson canine team; and
WHEREAS, the funds, to benefit the arson canine team of Fire Captain Robert R.K. Perreira
and "Kaimi ", will be used to provide training, supplies, and other needed items; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council,
on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts the $1,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent
to Ms. Carolyn Fujioka, Director of Public Affairs, State Farm Insurance Companies, 2828 Pa'a Street,
Suite 1050, Honolulu, Hawaii 96819, acknowledging this generous donation.
