RESOLUTION NO. 359 10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A VEHICLE FOR THE
HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is donating a 1981 Chevrolet Blazer K -5 to
the Hawaii Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, this vehicle, valued at $1,175, will be assigned to the West Hawaii Ocean Safety
Division and will facilitate the delivery of safety services, preventive actions, and basic emergency life
support by the Water Safety Officers; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawai'i accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to
the Ms. Laura Mallery- Sayre, Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 1285, Kailua -Kona, Hawaii
96745, acknowledging this donation.
