Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a $1,000 monetary donation for the Hawaii Fire
Department from State Farm Insurance Companies, 2828 Pa'a Street, Suite 1050,
Honolulu, Hawaii 96819. The funds are being given in appreciation and to support the
Fire Prevention Division and its arson canine team of Fire Captain Robert R.K. Perreira
and "Kaimi ". The monies will be used to provide training, supplies, and other needed
items.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The donation was given in appreciation and to support our Fire Prevention division and its arson canine
team of Fire Captain Robert R. K. Perreira and "Kaimi ". The funds are to be used to provide training,
supplies, and other needed items for the canine team.
This bureau is responsible for the review of various building plans and development project proposals in
addition to the enforcement of fire codes and regulations. Personnel conduct site and building inspections,
public education and fire safety and prevention training, and post fire incident investigations. The arson
canine team provides a critical tool in fire investigations.

RE: Resolution No. 358 -10 : A Resolution Authorizing the Acceptance of a Monetary
Donation of $1,000 to the Hawai`i Fire Department
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In the event this
request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance
Committee for placement on its future agenda.
