Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of a vehicle for the Hawaii Fire Department's
West Hawaii Ocean Safety Division from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O.
Box 1285, Kailua -Kona, Hawaii 96745.
This vehicle, a 1981 Chevrolet Blazer K -5 valued at $1,175, will facilitate the delivery of
safety services, preventive actions, and basic emergency life support by the Water
Safety Officers.

A. REQUEST:
Please prepare a resolution to accept a donation of a 1981 Chevrolet Blazer K -5 for West Hawaii Ocean
Safety, which is valued at the approximate Kelley Blue Book value of $1,175, from Daniel Sayre Memorial
Foundation. Extensive repairs were recently made to this vehicle, which greatly exceed the value above.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This donation is offered from the Sayre Foundation to Hawaii Fire Department's West Hawaii Ocean Safety
division. This vehicle will help to facilitate the delivery of safety services, preventive actions and basic
emergency life support by Water Safety Officers, by providing much needed transportation.

RE: Resolution No. 359 - 10 : A Resolution Authorizing the Acceptance of a Donation of
a Vehicle for the Hawai`i Fire Department
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In the event this
request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance
Committee for placement on its future agenda.
