It is my pleasure to nominate Kenneth Ono of Council District 7 to the Hawaii County
Police Commission. Mr. Ono is a 49 -year resident of Hawaii. He is presently employed
as President/CEO of West Hawaii Home Health Services.
Mr. Ono's community services includes past membership with the Hawaii Supreme
Court Disciplinary Board, Kona - Kohala Chamber of Commerce, and the American
Cancer Society -West Hawaii. If confirmed, Mr. Ono will serve a term to end on
December 31, 2014, replacing Melvin Morimoto whose term expired on
December 31, 2009.

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawai`i,
this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be waived from
the Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation to the full Council for immediate action.
However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be
referred to the Committee on Pubic Safety and Parks and Recreation for placement on its future
agenda.
