Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 165-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 165-99, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 518, dated October 26, 1999, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of
more than one fiscal year for the multi-year lease of a copy machine.
The County of Hawaii Department of Finance, Accounts Division wishes to lease a new copier
to avoid downtime and having to pay steep maintenance costs.
Pursuant to Section ] 0-I l , Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal
year be approved by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 165-99
and recommends its adoption.
