This is a followup note .... I just calculated my new tax, assuming the the Mayor's proposal is passed.
Instead of no net increase, my tax bill will go up by $332.00 or 15 %. There have been no improvements
on my property in the past year. Oh, by- the -way, I am one of those ag people he wants to "help ". My
home on ag land gets a higher rate than if I were in town. Maybe I should shut down my ag and go to
town...

I am writing again to take issue with the newly proposed tax rates. I could discuss economy, cost, etc,
but that is not the point of my writing. Its fairness. I do not understand why a homeowner, who lives on
agricultural land pays a higher tax rate for his home (building) than a homeowner who lives in a
subdivision or residental area. They are all homeowners. The rate for all homes, regardless of what
piece of land they sit on should be the same. You say you dont want to penalize the agricultural
economy, well, we live in our homes, we are homeowners, but live on agricultural land. The rate should
be the same for all homes, regardless of where the sit....
