Pkou NCflL I want you to sell excess lands and do a thorough evaluation of Park and Recreation expenses before you make a wholesale cut of Hilo Municipal G.0 funding. There are many recreational facilities maintained by the County that produce no revenue and for which participation is small in relation to the population and to number of golfers.. As for excess lands, there are many property owners today who are forced to sell at prices way below market prices common a few years back.. We can't always buy low and sell high. Better to get these properties on the tax roles. Your rule of thumb should be cut waste before you increase taxes but make sure it is waste before you do. Make sure everyone is paying thheir fair share of taxes before you raise rates on those who are paying their fair share. Jerry E. Bragdon 961 -5888 6/3/2010 Page 1 of 1 Corp. Duo. ( Ref.
