I was unable to attend the public hearing for the testimony regarding the increase in property taxes. I
heard from a friend that heard it on the radio that it was at 6 p.m. Monday evening. I dashed down to
Hilo, and was unable to find the location. Perhaps she heard wrong.
In any case, I would like to offer the following suggestion. I believe the only property taxes which
should be increased are those owned by absentee celebrity owners. These properties are definitely
more valuable. I believe a similar bill was introduced and passed in Honolulu. I would highly
recommend that you check into this option as a way to increase revenue.
I absolutely do not wish to have my property taxes increased. I live in Orchidland, and already have a
long list of reasons why. Feel free to contact me, and you can speak with my neighbors if you want
more reasons.

PI co tdi N ctt,
I wrote previously expressing my opposition to any increase in our property taxes. Please let me know
of any future hearings. I do not think sufficient notice was given for the public hearing on Monday.
