I believe that the current rate for investors on rental property is too high as it is. Many of the foreclosures and
short sales that we have now are due to investors who are unable to hold on to their properties. Increasing the
taxes will create a further hardship on those that hold properties as investments. The increase could deter people
who would want to buy investment properties and this could affect our market place as there would be less
properties for others to rent. This shortage of rentals could increase rental rates for those who cannot
buy properties at this time. More rental properties mean more competition in the market place therefore creating
affordability for others would need to rent.
