Subject: Tax increases for West Hawaii
I find it interesting that you are rushing to a decision about raising taxes for homeowners in West Hawai'i and
doing so in a way that will let you come to your decision without having to face the actual taxpayers.
Why do you insist on acting with such cowardice? Brenda Ford — my representative — commented that there
simply isn't enough time to schedule hearings on this issue. Well, yes there is. Simply defer the vote until a later
date, like you do on issues that might affect your re- election campaign.
Right now, I do not trust a single person on the council to do anything for the PEOPLE of Hawai'i, and too many
of you seem to forget that this is ONE county and ONE island. With your attitudes, you have managed to turn
this into two counties, 7 districts and somehow have even managed to micromanage it down to individual
communities by showing favoritism and contempt.
The sad part is that you either don't see this, or just don't care. No aloha in your offices, just game playing.
