RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF ONE HUNDRED (100)
NO- TOBACCO SIGNS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION BY THE STATE
OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Department of Health is donating one hundred (100) No- Tobacco
signs to the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, these signs, with an estimated total value of $1,744.79, will be posted at various
County parks islandwide; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this generous donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to the State of Hawai'i
Department of Health, Attention: Mr. Julian Lipsher, 1250 Punchbowl Street, Room 217, Honolulu, Hawai`i
96813, acknowledging this donation.
