Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 176-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 176-99, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 542, dated November 10, 1999, creates a Storekeeper, SR-11 position for the Hawaii
County Fire Department.
The Hawaii County Fire Department is desirous of creating a Storekeeper position to manage
their immense inventory on a daily basis.
Pursuant to Article V, Section 5-13(c), Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor has the power to
create positions for which appropriations have been made by the council.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 176-99
and recommends its adoption.

REPORT 184
(AMENDED)
By motion duly made and seconded the County Council amended Finance
Committee Report 184 with the following changes:
1) Anew paragraph five was inserted, to read, "A motion to approve was made and
seconded, followed by a vote by the seven members in attendance. The final
vote, as reflected below, prompted the Committee Chair to forward this measure
to Council with a negative recommendation."
2) The final paragraph (now paragraph 6), was amended to read, "Your Committee
on Finance forwards Resolution No. 176-99 to Council with a negative
recommendation."
3) The votes were amended to correct Councilmember Pisicchio's vote as "no",
rather than "aye" as reflected in the original report.
Finance Committee Report 184, as amended, was adopted by the following voice
vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Chung, Elarionoff,
Jacobson, Leithead-Todd, Pisicchio,
Smith, Tyler, Yagong and Chairman
Arakaki - 9.
NOES: None.
