Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 170, reports as follows:
Bill No. 170, transmittedjointly with Resolution No. 177-99, by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via
Communication No. 543, dated November 10, 1999, amends Ordinance No. 99-70, as amended, the
Operating Budget ending June 30, 2000. The amendment is as follows:

This grant is provided to decrease fatal traffic accidents in the South Hilo and Puna districts by at least
5%. This will be accomplished by conducting educational presentations, partnering with the community
to do projects, conducting speed enforcement in targeted areas, and airing monthly public service
announcements.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No.17Q and recommends it
pass first reading.
