Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 172, reports as follows:
Bill No. 172, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication No. 550,
dated November 18, 1999, amends Ordinance No. 99-7Q as amended, the Operating Budget
ending June 3Q 2000. The amendment is as follows:

Total $1,472,000
Funds are needed to cover retro and pay increases, equipment repair, security costs, automobile
purchases, and other unanticipated costs.
It was originally anticipated by the Department of Public Works that $200,000 would be used to
cover the unanticipated costs needed for fire containment at the Kailua Landfill; however, the
department amended their request by using said funds to implement the Integrated Solid Waste
Management Plan.
For informational purposes, Ms. Jacobson voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpo}s,e and intent of Bill No. 172, and
