RESOLUTION NO. 375 10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF EIGHT (8) POLICE BICYCLE PACKAGES
FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Ironman Foundation, Inc. is donating eight (8) Police Bicycle Packages to the
Kona District Police Station of the Hawaii County Police Department; and
WHEREAS, these bicycles, valued at $10,000, will be utilized in and around the downtown Kailua-
Kona area to provide additional mobility for the police officers; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to
the Ironman Foundation, Inc., 2701 North Rocky Point Drive, Suite 1250, Tampa, Florida 33607,
acknowledging this generous donation.
