RESOLUTION NO. 376 10 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $7,500 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION WHEREAS, the Hilo Unit of the Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center has donated $7,500 to the Recreation Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation; and WHEREAS, these monies will be used to subsidize the fees for the Summer Fun Programs at the Hawaiian Beaches Park and at the Pahoa Community Center; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts the $7,500. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to the Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center, Hilo Unit, 919 Ululani Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
