Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. ] 78-99, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 178-99, transmitted by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via Communication
No. 555, dated November 16, 1999, accepts a donation from the Big Island Interscholastic
Federation.
The Big Island Interscholastic Association has graciously donated a wheel chair accessible water
cooler drinking fountain to the Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation's Afook-
Chinen Civic Auditorium. The value of the drinking fountain is estimated at $483.
Pursuant to Article XHI, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 178-99
and recommends its adoption. Your Committee also recommends that a letter of appreciation be
sent to Mr. Roy Fujimoto, Executive Director, Big Island Interscholastic Federation at P.O. Box
4160. Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
